On Friday, April 18th high school students witnessed a Mock Accident. The goal of this presentation was to get through Prom and Graduation safely, show the seriousness of a crash, and the consequences of drinking and driving. Thanks to Jared, Matt, Katelyn, and Mercedes; the students who participated, the Deerfield Volunteer Fire Department, Tagsold Funeral Home, Lenawee County Sherriff Department, Nagy’s, Madison Township ALS, and Life Flight.

On Wednesday, March 19th the Deerfield Elementary held their Family Reading Night. This year the theme was Reading is Magical. Families had time to view student work and socialize while enjoying ice cream provided by the Deerfield Elementary Parent Group. Families enjoyed a magic show to conclude the evening. Dodgeball Tournament
On Saturday, March 8th the Deerfield Student Council and the Yearbook Staff hosted a Dodgeball Tournament. Along with the 29 teams that participated, there was also a great turnout of spectators. Deerfield Media Center hosted author and paleontologist, Joseph “PaleoJoe” Kchodl, on Friday, March 7. For over 30 years PaleoJoe has been a real paleontologist with recent adventures digging in Como Bluff for Allosaurus, Camptosaurus, and Apatosaurus. He has gone on digs around the US and abroad, hunting for fossils with some of the most famous and respected paleontologists in the world. Fifth grade students studied Biomes in Science. As part of this unit students researched one of the Biomes and wrote a report and created a display to represent their Biome. On Monday, November 26th our Senior Interviews were held. Each senior was given the opportunity to be interviewed four times. Students went through one-on-one, group, and lunch interviews. The objective was to give students a chance to hone their interview skills for the real world / college entrance interviews that they will face in the future. Middle School Family Fun Night
On Friday, November 2nd the Deerfield Middle School held its second family fun night. Students brought their parents and siblings to a night of activities, demonstrations, games, crafts, and all around fun.
